HANDMADE

A FILM SERIES BY FARLOW + CO

Join us as we celebrate human artistry, craftsmanship and the attention to detail that goes into creating something truly handmade.

There is a throughline in every story we tell with these short films. From the first step to the final result, the work is deliberate, considered and human. That belief in doing things with care, purpose and respect for the process is one we carry into everything we create at Farlow + Co.

POTTERY AT EAST WHEELING CLAYWORKS

In Wheeling, West Virginia, Adam and Beth Bedway shape clay into objects meant for daily use. This film follows East Wheeling Clayworks as mugs take form on the wheel, are trimmed, fired and finished by hand. Every piece is measured, repeated and refined with care.

LEATHERWORK WITH JOHN HUDGINS

Go behind the scenes at Hudson’s Hill and inside their process for handcrafting timeless leather goods. John Hudgins, manager and primary leatherworker at Hudson’s Hill, shares his passion for making durable belts and other functional leather items by hand. Hudgins explains how choosing to do things the right way, and teaching others craftsmanship and attention to detail, matter more than ever.
